This is a photograph taken by my wife while on holiday in South Africa this month. It highlights for me just how far compact cameras have evolved in the last couple of years. She was shooting with her new Fujifilm Finepix F100fd and what a wonderful camera it is.
This flagship F series compact boasts a 12 megapixel Super CCD, superior [wide] dynamic range, low light magic with ISO capabilities up to 12800 and image stabilisation.
Every photo she took (seriously every single one) came out crisp, sharp and beautiful, I reckon the image quality gives my LX3 a serious run for its money. A brilliant little camera that far surpassed my expectations (and it seems most of the reviews out there).
